Speaker: Endua CEO, Paul Sernia

We’re a Brisbane technology company, and we’re developing next-generation energy storage solutions for renewable energy. What we do that’s unique is we’re using the properties of hydrogen as an energy storage medium to create long-duration, multi-day energy storage systems.

Speaker: Endua Head of Engineering, Ben McGruer

Our team of engineers are using Australian Standards to develop the products. We’re looking at the hydraulic, mechanical and electrical standards to ensure that the systems we build perform and are safe.

The subscription model provided a cost-effective means to access the large number of standards that we needed.

Paul: Having a subscription to the Standards Australia Store means that we can visit at any time, have access to the latest standards and know that we’re up to date with our products.

Ben: As part of our fully digital design process, we’re accessing the standards from our desks and computers as part of our engineering work, in the workshop as part of the build process and out in the field from our phones and laptop computers.

Paul: Our customers are very aware of the standards that apply, and it provides a common language through which we can explain what it is that we’re doing.

Ben: In a rapidly evolving field, the standards are regularly being updated, and new standards are being introduced and adopted. Having ready access to the latest version ensures we stay compliant.

Paul: We’re competing with some very large companies with large resources and large capabilities. For us to remain competitive and a leader in the field, we need to ensure that we’re always at the forefront of standards and technology.
